Brent applies a client-centered approach to his practice of law and focuses in the areas of Business, Bankruptcy, Civil Litigation and Real Estate law. He identifies multiple courses of action; gives straightforward advice and diligently works with you to achieve results. Drawing from his military experience, Brent’s diverse clientele has prepared him to serve a wide variety of clients, ranging from individuals to local businesses and government entities in the following areas.
- Bankruptcy/Debt Restructuring. Brent’s bankruptcy practice has saved dozens of client’s homes from foreclosure, cars from repossession and has resolved burdensome tax obligations through the Bankruptcy Code. Brent works with his clients to understand all of their options inside and outside of the Bankruptcy Code and identifies whether a Non-Bankruptcy solution, such as a mortgage loan modification, real estate “short sale” or other debt reduction strategies are appropriate for you.
- Business Law. Brent represents local businesses and advises on issues such as choice of corporate entity, commercial leases, liquor license transfers and the complex steps of a business purchase and asset acquisition.
- Real Estate Law: Whether you are buying or selling a home, refinancing or need advice on landlord tenant matters, Brent ensures that your matter is handled correctly and efficiently.
- Civil Litigation. When personal and commercial disputes cannot be amicably resolved, Brent draws upon his trial experience to zealously represent his clients and diligently works with you to achieve results.
Prior to joining CGA Law Firm, Brent served as an Army Officer and JAG Attorney. He brings to his civilian practice an invaluable and well-rounded experience ranging from advising senior military officers on complex legal issues to litigating contested jury trials. Brent held the rank of Captain and served as a Trial Defense Counsel at Fort Bragg, North Carolina where he defended service members of the 82nd Airborne Division and U.S. Army Special Forces Command in over 30 jury and bench trials, many which resulted in acquittals for his clients. Early in his military career, Brent deployed to Iraq for a year as part of the elite 101st Airborne Division “Screaming Eagles” and acted as lead counsel for all legal claims brought by Iraqi citizens against the U.S. Government occurring in a 6,000 square mile combat zone. Later, Brent served as general counsel for his Commanding General and installation’s administrative agencies by advising on fiscal, employment and administrative law related matters.
